How To Be Kinder To Yourself
Self love is connected to self talk and the way you speak to yourself when no one else is listening.
If you are always in a default mode of being mean, harsh or negative toward yourself, this will add up to not loving yourself fully. Why does it matter?
Self love means you love yourself unconditionally.
It means you trust yourself and you have your own back. It means you speak kindly to yourself no matter what. When you love yourself, you radiate happiness and good energy that other people pick up on. Therefore, when you love yourself, you’re more pleasant to be around and your relationships improve. You also have an easier time when you’re alone with your thoughts.
To start practicing self love now, start with how you talk to yourself.
Notice each time you are speaking negatively to yourself and stop to breathe deeply. Then see if you can make the negative self talk a little nicer and less harsh. If you catch yourself every time you speak negatively to yourself and then switch it to something less harsh, overtime, you will become so good at this that it becomes automatic. Your negative self talk will be less frequent and you’ll become an expert at switching negative self talk into positive self talk. This change will add up to more self love and more respect for yourself. This won’t happen overnight because we always have an inner dialogue going on in our minds.
Wouldn’t your life be so much better if your inner dialogue was nice, kind and respectful?
Keep being aware of how you speak to yourself, switch it up when you’re being unkind and watch the way your relationship with yourself and others transforms over time. Self love is possible and necessary for you to live the life you want!
