How Does Meditating With Flowers Help Your Mental Health?
Meditating with flowers helps your mental health, here’s how.
I lead Guided Flower Meditations online where people bring fresh flowers and participate in a guided meditation. I also host these meditations in person and provide fresh, local (whenever possible) blooms. There are many benefits to meditating with fresh flowers. Here are 5 of the mental health benefits of meditating with flowers that I’ve noticed:
Meditating with flowers helps you stop overthinking:
If you’ve ever wondered how to stop overthinking, try meditating with flowers. It will help bring your focus and attention to something outside of you, the flowers, and this helps your mind slow down.
Meditating with flowers helps reduce stress:
Stress often stems from worrying about the future. Meditation focuses on the present moment and brings you into the here and now which helps you stop worrying about what happens later or in the future. By spending time meditating with flowers, you are focusing on the present moment and flowers and this helps reduce worry and stress.
Meditating with flowers is relaxing:
During meditation, you will take deep breaths which helps your mind and body relax. The calming scent of flowers helps produce feelings of relaxation. The more time you spend in a relaxed state, the better your mental health.
Meditating with flowers helps you restore balance to your life:
Taking time out of your day to focus on yourself, your breathing and flowers is a great form of self care. By taking time for self care, you are restoring balance to your life. You’re moving out of autopilot and into awareness.
Meditating with flowers improves your connection to nature:
Many of our modern day issues stem from our disconnection to nature. By spending time meditating with flowers, you’re connecting with nature and all the beauty it brings, even when you’re indoors.
If you want to experience the mental health benefits of meditating with flowers for yourself, join me at one of my guided meditations. I have pre-recorded, on demand guided meditations on Insight Timer and I host a live flower meditation every 2nd Tuesday of the month on Zoom.
